PTI names candidates for 18 Punjab seats

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday issued tickets to its candidates from eighteen constituencies of Punjab to contest by-polls scheduled for July 17, 2022. 

The PTI leader Farrukh Habib confirmed this to the IP (Independent Pakistan).

According to the published list, Shabir Awan has been fielded for the constituency PP-07, Hassan Aslam for PP-83, Irfan Niazi PP-90, Ali Afzal Shahi PP-97, and Mian Muhammad Azam for PP-125.
Muhammad Nawaz Bharwana will contest polls from PP-127, Khurram Wirk from PP-140, Mian Akram Usman PP-158 , Atif Chaudhry PP-167, Nawaz Awan PP-168, Major Sarwar PP-202, Zain Qureshi PP-217, Amir Iqbal Shah PP-224, Izzat Javed Khan PP-228, Moazzam Jatoi PP-272, Yasir Jatoi PP-273, Qaiser Abbas PP-282, and Saifuddin Khosa have been nominated for constituency PP-288.

Habib said that the names of PP-170 and PP-288 candidates would be announced later.

On May 20, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had de-seated 25 MPAs of the PTI – including 5 lawmakers elected in 2018 on reserved seats – for defying party directives and voting for Hamza Shahbaz for the post of the Punjab Chief Minister.
