Pakistan badminton federation needs to improve coaching standards in the country by sending coaches for training abroad, says the woman ranked Pakistan’s number 2 badminton player.
Presently Pakistan number 2 in woman badminton ranking, Palwasha Bashir is 10 times double badminton champion, seven times single champion, and five times mixed double champion.
In an interview with Independent Pakistan, Palwasha Bashir said lamented badminton coaching in Pakistan did not meet the international standard because of a lack of world-class training facilities in the country.
She called on Pakistan badminton federation to establish badminton training centres and academies across the country, and urged Pakistan Sports Board and other authorities to increase the annual grant of Pakistan badminton federation as in limited funds federation cannot fulfil all its requirements.
Palwasha, who holds a BBA Hons degree from IOMS, says her success in life and education is all thanks to her family, in particular accentuating the priority they attach to education.
