ISLAMABAD: PTI Prohibited Funding Case petitioner, Akbar S Babar has demanded immediate resignation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan after the latter was found guilty in the prohibited funding.

Speaking to the media after the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday, Babar said the case was absolutely clear, and all his allegations against PTI had been confirmed by ECP.

He said that time had come for a regime change within the PTI, and he demanded that Imran Khan resign after the decision of the Election Commission.

In a media talk outside the Election Commission, the PTI founding member and former vide president said that the war was between the right and the wrong, and the truth had won out.

Taking the page of using the cricket lexicon out of Imran Khan’s book, he said Khan had gotten out although it remained to be seen if he had been clean bowled or out caught in the slips.

Babar said that it was fully expected that the decision would be in his favour, adding, “I went out after reading two rakats of Nafl and prayed to Allah for justice.”

He further said that it was a major milestone in the case. “I will fight till the end and the victory will be for Pakistan. The decisions of the case will increase the transparency in the political parties.”

Answering a question, he said during Nawaz Sharif’s last term in power, he had written to the then Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar about the financial irregularities of the then ruling party, but received no answer.

He asserted no political party including PML-N had given him any funding or other support to fight the case against PTI.
