ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appointed a former bureaucrat Tariq Pasha as special assistant on revenue, bringing the number of his special assistants and advisors to 75.
Pasha, a close ally of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, previously served as chairman Federal Board of Revenue during the last tenure of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
Fawad Hasan Fawad, former principal secretary of Nawaz Sharif recently tweeted that “one of the cardinal sins of Miftah was that he refused to employ some retired civil servants who have been FD regulars”.
“Amazingly they still decide the fate of FMs. Some of them may return to the corridors of FD soon. Those who didn’t deliver in 35-40 years won’t deliver now – period”.
