Addressing the annual graduation ceremony at Kakul, Gen Asim Munir also reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

ISLAMABAD: Loyalty to Pakistan and commitment to their constitutional role is the foremost priority of the armed forces of Pakistan, Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said Saturday, addressing the graduation ceremony of the 147th PMA Long Course at Pakistani Military Academy, Kakul.
According to the military, the army chief said the armed forces of Pakistan have the will and capability to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the motherland.
He said to the uniformed services, nothing is more sacred than the safety and security of our people and no duty is more binding than the defence of our motherland.
The COAS warned once more that Pakistan’s efforts for peace should never be seen as a sign of weakness. He assured the people of Pakistan that the armed forces would never hesitate in rendering any and every sacrifice necessary for the defence of our sacred motherland.
Syed Asim Munir said there is a dire need to identify the known and unknown enemies of the country. He said in this regard, there must be a difference between reality and deception.
He said our enemies are hell bent on driving a wedge between the people and the armed forces of the country, and hoped the nation will ensure that the bond between armed forces and people of Pakistan is preserved and further solidified.
Relating Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan, the army chief said stability, security and peace in Afghanistan remain fundamental to our security.
The army chief reiterated Pakistan’s continued political, moral, and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers, stressing that Pakistan stands firmly with its Kashmiri brethren in their historic struggle for basic human rights and their legitimate quest for the right to self-determination.
Gen Asim Munir emphasised that the international community must realise that without a just and peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue, regional peace will forever remain elusive.
According to ISPR, cadets from 13th Mujahid Course, 66th Integrated Course, 6th Basic Military Training Course, and 21st Lady Cadet Course also passed out Saturday along with the graduation of the 147th PMA Long Course.
Cadets from Palestine, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar and Sri Lanka were also among those passed out today.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir was the chief guest on the occasion. He reviewed the parade and gave awards to distinguished cadets.
Academy Senior Under-Officer Abdullah Bin Tariq was awarded the Sword of Honour whereas Battalion Senior Under-Officer Ali Amir received the President’s Gold medal.
The army chief congratulated the passing-out cadets and their parents on the successful completion of their training.
