ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court Monday threw out another petition seeking changes to the voting procedure for overseas Pakistanis.
The petitioner’s council said that the overseas Pakistanis’ right to vote was accepted but parliament had denied this right in recent legislation.
Hearing the petition, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that an act of legislation by the parliament could not be negated. The court voice confidence that the Election commission (ECP) of Pakistan will fulfil its responsibilities in this regard.
