ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Sunday slashed the pump prices of petrol and diesel respectively by PKR 40 and PKR 15 per litre, citing decreasing international petroleum prices and appreciation of the rupee against the dollar.
The new prices – PKR 283.38 per litre for petrol and PKR 303.18 per litre for diesel – will be effective as of October 16, 2023, a midnight official announcement said.
The decent price cut will be music to the ears of the populace, struggling under the burden of stellar inflation, driven largely by high fuel prices.
