ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s protest long march, suspended after a failed assassination attempt on party chief Imran Khan last week, will resume on Thursday instead of Tuesday, party officials said.

Asad Umar, a senior PTI leader said he will participate in the long march with the party’s vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other colleagues in Wazirabad on Thursday.

Over the weekend former prime minister  Khan announced that the march to press for snap polls would resume on Tuesday from Wazirabad — the city where he came under an assassination attack last week.

Khan suffered multiple bullet injuries in both legs when a gun-wielding man opened fire on the protest convoy near Gujranwala, wounding at least seven people and killing a party supporter.
