ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government on Wednesday decided to keep domestic prices of gasoline and diesel unchanged until December 15, finance minister Ishaq Dar said.
“The government has decided to maintain the price of high speed diesel … there will be no change. As for petrol, there will be no change and it will remain unchanged from Dec 1 to 15,” minister Dar said in a televised address.
“The price of kerosene oil, which is used by lower income groups, would be slashed by Rs10. As for light diesel oil it has been decided to reduce the price by Rs7.5 per litre.”
Dar said the revised price of Kerosene oil will be Rs181 per litre, while for light diesel, it will be Rs179 per litre.
“The price of petrol will remain at Rs224.80 per litre while the price of high-speed diesel will stay at Rs235.30 per litre for the next fortnight,” he said.
The government had previously kept the prices of all petroleum products unchanged on October 15, October 30 and November 15.
Dar also announced a further extension in the deadline for filing tax returns for two weeks. He urged the nation to take advantage of this opportunity and file their tax returns at the earliest.
