Army chief concludes 2-day Balochistan tour

Corps Commander Quetta and IGFC South Balochistan briefed the top soldier in detail on the operational, training, and other and other matters concerning their formations.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir has completed his two-day visit of Quetta and Turbat formations of Pakistan Army in the country’s Balochistan province.

Chief of Army Staff( COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Balochistan (Quetta and Turbat) spread over two days, the military’s public relations arm said Saturday in a statement.

On the first day of his visit, the COAS visited Corps Headquarters and laid floral wreath at Yadgare Shahuada and offered Fatheha, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.

The ISPR said: “Later, COAS was given detailed update on operational, training and other matters of the formation”.

“The COAS also visited Command and Staff College, Quetta and School of Infantry and Tactics, where he interacted with young officers and instructors and advised them to focus on professional excellence to meet the challenges of the battlefield of future.

On the second day of his visit, the COAS visited Turbat, where IGFC South Balochistan briefed him on the prevailing security situation in Southern Balochistan and the measures in place to ensure a safe and secure environment.

The COAS said that every effort will be made for the security and safety of the people of Balochistan, and to ensure conducive environment for the socioeconomic development of the province, resulting in sustainable peace and prosperity.

Earlier, on his arrival at Quetta, the COAS was received by Lt-Gen Asif Ghafoor, Corps Commander Quetta.
