ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has annulled a Peshawar High Court ruling to ban the exports of Poultry products. The case was heard by a two-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan.
During the hearing, lawyer Latif Khosa argued that the High Court has no jurisdiction in the matter. Making import and export policies and fixing prices is the domain of the government and not of the court. The petitioner’s stand was also supported by the Federation.
After a brief hearing of the case, the Supreme Court allowed the appeals of Sadiq Poultry and the government and declared the decision of the Peshawar High Court null and void.
The apex court has said in its order that the detailed reasons will be issued later.
