RAWALPINDI: The Pakistani security forces Thursday thwarted an active terrorist operation, killing 11 terrorists including a notorious terrorist commander and 2 would-be suicide bombers, the military’s Public Relations wing said in the evening.
The development came after the forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Wana area of South Waziristan to intercept a terror plot in motion.
Among those killed in the encounter were terrorist commander Hafiz Ullah alias Tor Hafiz and 2 suicide bombers, a press note issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The ISPR statement said: “Security Forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation in general area Wana, South Waziristan District and successfully foiled a high profile terrorist activity.
“During intense exchange of fire, 11 terrorists including Terrorist Commander Hafiz Ullah alias Tor Hafiz and 2 suicide bombers, were killed. A huge quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorists.
“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and target killing of police in South Waziristan District.”
