RAWALPINDI: Two security personnel embraced martyrdom after a post on the Pak-Iran border in the Singwan Area (Dist Kech) of Balochistan came under attack by a group of terrorists, the military’s PR wing said here Thursday.

The martyred soldiers have been identified as Sepoy Hasnain Ishtiaq, 34, from District Dera Ghazi Khan; and Sepoy Inayat Ullah,27, from District Jhal Magsi.

“A group of terrorists targeted a security forces’ post  through fire in Singwan Area (Dist Kech) of Balochistan along the Pakistan-Iran Border”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. “Since troops on the Post were already alert and responded gallantly with all available weapons, a heavy fire exchange ensued”.

It said security forces pushed back the terrorists successfully, but the two jawans embraced martyrdom in the intense exchange of fire while fighting bravely with the terrorists.

The ISPR said: “Security forces have launched an immediate sanitisation operation in the area and are in communication with the Iranian authorities as well to deny terrorists any opportunity to escape.

“Security Forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace and stability all along the borders in Balochistan”.
