Saadhay 14 August, the culmination of a theatrical trilogy by the master playwright, has already made waves in Karachi.

ISLAMABAD: Saadhay 14 August, a satirical stage play by eminent playwright Anwar Maqsood, has hit the federal capital with a big bang after putting on 100 successful shows at Karachi.
The already famous play premiered at Islamabad’s PNCA theatre on Saturday.
The play, directed by Daawar Mehmood, won plaudits from audiences from all walks of life, and individuals of all ages and genders.
Featuring some of the most well-known national figures from both the past and present, Saadhay 14 August is the culmination of a theatrical trilogy by the master playwright.
The first part of the series, Pownay 14 August, was staged ten years ago.
Anwar Maqsood states “This series is really close to my heart and was made while keeping something positive while also considering the current plight of the nation. We expect that Saadhay 14 August will receive the same level of support in Islamabad as it has in Karachi.”
Director Daawar Mehmood hopes to exceed the expectations of the crowd in Islamabad. “The play has all the necessary ingredients for a successful theatrical presentation”.
He considers the script written by Anwar Maqsood a major strength of the production, along with outstanding acting and scenes and sets built with great attention to detail.
The play Saadhay 14 August will be staged at Islamabad from January 7 till February 7 2023.
